The year 2019 was a year with a variety of different events. I for one, enjoyed the year. Many meaningful and important events took place. First on April 10th, the first ever image of a black hole was released from NASA. On July 7th, Women’s soccer took down the Netherlands in the World Cup and clinched the world champion title. Also on October 18th, NASA achieved the first all woman spacewalk on the moon.  Lastly on October 26th, America struck a major blow against terror organization ISIS when leader Baghdadi was killed by american forces. I prefer to see the wonderful accomplishments the world has made and how we shape the future for others. 2019 has been a year of progress and activity towards a better society.

Although the year was overall great, it’s important to note the less fortunate events that took place. Over the course of 2019, wildfires in Brazil have wiped out large swaths of trees from the Amazon rainforest. Also this year on April 15th the world lost one of its great pieces of history, the iconic Notre-Dame Cathedral. Despite these events, overall, 2019 has been a great year.  Now that the new year is here, everyone must focus on the future and making this year and more to come as great and better than 2019.
