Swimming district playoffs were held on 2/28 and 2/29, where several schools in the District 11 conference competed in various swimming events. The girls came in 1st place, and the boys came in 2nd place. Junior swimmer Shawn Kushner broke the Parkland School record for the fastest 100m breaststroke time of 58.69 seconds. The previous record was 58.7 seconds. Senior Gavin Webb also won the 500m freestyle race, helping Parkland to place in 2nd. Junior David Engler had this to say about the season: “It was a great meet for our team and a great way to end our season.” The winners of each individual event will move on to the state competition, where they hope to advance to the national competition.
