When asked about this achievement, Kimberly Castillo, October student of the month in Health & Medical Sciences said “When my teacher first told me I was student of the month I was like what!? How!? and then I realized even when there were so many challenges in front of me, I never gave up. When I was struggling with something I always found a way to find a solution. I’ve helped other people when they were having a tough day. I would try to put a smile on their face and let them know it was going to be okay. I may not be the best for academics but I will say I have a heart that is big, that is what makes me the person who I am today and there aren’t a lot of people like that around the world. Being student of the month reminds me that people struggle every day with something and all you can do to help is be there and listen to them.”
