Here at PHS, one of the best places for a student to spend time, both during and after school, is in the library. The school library serves as a great, quiet place for students to work when they have free time, and as a haven for literature nerds, but it offers much more than just silence and books. The library has an array of different activities for students to participate in, ranging from arts and crafts to coding and computers.

One of the newest hobbies available to try is the crochet circle that occurs every Friday during the lunch periods. These classes are a great place to meet with friends and chat while eating lunch and crafting something to use around the house, like a coaster. Grace Liersaph (10) told The Trumpet “I like that I get to meet new people and have a relaxing break in my day doing something I enjoy.”

The makerspace area of the library is one of the best places for a student to exercise their creativity and imagination, with all the different arts and crafts available for use. With options that range from just coloring to even quilling, the opportunities are endless. This area is often used for classes during the day, but it is also available for other students to use with permission.

The library frequently holds one-time events, so make sure to check out their Schoology page so you don’t miss anything. Frequent updates are posted about activities and such, so be sure to stop by and bring a friend!
