Another autumn means another season filled with pumpkin spice and everything nice. Restaurants all throughout lehigh valley have fall specials on their menu, and a student favorite at PHS is the Spooky Pizookie from BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse. 

The infamous pizookie, the fresh baked skillet cookie a la mode, attracts countless customers each Halloween season. The classic Cookies N’ Cream flavored cookie pairs with oreo crumbs, Halloween sprinkles, and bright orange vanilla ice cream to create an amazing, festive experience. This experience also comes with a chocolate sauce drizzle that hardens on the cold ice cream. “It’s the perfect treat you just can’t beat,” says Hanna Hertzog (11). 

This festive item is only available during the Halloween season, creating a much higher demand while it is in season. “I always make sure to go at least once a year to get this, it’s my favorite halloween treat!” says Katie Sammarco (12). “Going with a group of friends is a seasonal tradition for me. Nothing says fall like splitting a pizookie,” says Keira Shearer. 

Even though most people love this special item, some people could definitely go without it. “Every Halloween, I go get the spooky pizookie, but if I’m being honest, the Chocolate Chunk is superior. It’s classic, and the spooky pizookie just has too many things going on,” says Shri Desai.

Overall, this dessert has made a huge impact on students’ traditions during the fall season, but it is not universally considered as the best dessert on BJ’s menu. “I think everyone should try it at least once even if it’s not their jam. It’s an experience everyone should have, I think,” says Ellie Zuber (11).
