After nearly three whole years, Netflix has gone back to black with the return of the hit ‘Wednesday’ show. Wednesday has returned to Nevermore Academy, this time accompanied by her younger brother, Pugsley. Both parts of season 2 were accompanied by compelling mystery and shocking plot twists around every corner; but some plot points weren’t laid to rest with the season’s end. This has left fans to begin theorizing what may be in store for the show’s third season.
Judi Stonehearst—the executive assistant at the Willow Hill Psychiatric Hospital—was revealed to be the avian (person able to control birds). The character, however, is quickly killed off by the zombie, ‘Slurp’, or Issac Night. Despite her demise, the mysterious blind-eyed murderous crow is still shown to stick around the cast. This suggests that there may be another avian lurking around Nevermore. It is also a plot point that Judi was not born with her powers; rather, they were stolen from someone else. A character that has been on the radar of many fans is Capri—the new music teacher. Capri, however, also has ties to many other mysteries such as the possibility of her being part Hyde, and her connections to Enid.
Another suspect, however, is Lurch. Lurch—the Addams Family’s butler—is portrayed to have a blind eye in the second season. This was a feature that was absent in the first season before the bird plot point had been introduced. This may suggest a correlation between him and the birds.
The avian on the loose is just one of the many bone-chilling secrets fans are anticipating to be answered when the new season comes around. Although the series has been confirmed to be renewed for a new season, the release date of season 3 has yet to be set in stone. However—with filming and production already underway—many have begun to predict a 2027 release date.
