One of the biggest underrated questions of any high schooler’s career is: which school trivia app is the best? There are four websites that Parkland uses throughout its different schools, and they all have their advantages and disadvantages.

Kahoot, according to Jordan Miller (11), is the “original,” as it has been a part of most Parkland students’ school experiences since elementary school. Kahoot is undoubtedly the most nostalgic quiz game of the four, which automatically earns it bonus points with most students today. One of the best aspects of Kahoot, by far, is the feeling of getting the highest number of points on a question. Jordan expressed this perfectly when she said, “The validation when you’re the first one to answer and get [the question] right is unparalleled.” That sensation, however, is a double-edged sword, and everyone understands the feeling of being the only person to give the wrong answer on a Kahoot and hearing someone shout out, “Who got that wrong?” Overall, Kahoot has its pros and cons, but it is definitely one of the best school trivia apps used at Parkland.

There have been two different quiz games that have gained popularity in the district lately, those being Gimkit and Blooket, which both offer a variety of gameplay, such as team modes, fishing frenzy, or capture the flag. These apps definitely have a lot of different options for how to play, but they haven’t built up enough credit among users for them to replace the older games that people have played since childhood.

Quizizz used to be at the top of the pecking order in terms of trivia, but it has since outgrown its popularity and become one of the least-used quiz games among the student body. Despite this, the app brings back a sense of nostalgia for many people and reminds them of the rugs in their classrooms that would always have bits of smashed-up crayons stuck in the fuzz and the smell of the stale classroom air. Though Quizziz has been removed from its former place on Clever and is hardly used anymore, the memories it has left behind are still enough for it to retain a place in everyone’s hearts.

In the end, only one of the four apps can be declared the best, and Kahoot is the one that deserves that title. It has held the test of time and remains a student favorite even today. The competitive gameplay it offers makes it one of the most entertaining games played in school, as it leaves no room for relaxation.
