This year, the Grammy Awards are coming back for the 57th time in February. The competition is tighter than ever, and the winners are almost unpredictable. This year, women are dominating the main categories from awards. The artist with the most nominations is Beyonce, with 11.
Record of the Year
Record of the Year revolves around the specific recording of a song and recognizes the artists, producers and engineers who contributed to the recording. For this award, I believe that Birds of a Feather by Billie Eilish should win. The song was solely written by only Billie, with a little help from her brother, Finneas. Finneas also produced the song, so this hit song was created by only two people. With Billie’s vocals and Finneas’ production, I am almost certain that this song will win.
Song of the Year
The Song of the Year award goes to the songwriter who wrote the lyrics and/or melodies to the song. I believe that Good Luck, Babe! By Chappell Roan should win this award. Chappell Roan rose to fame faster than we have ever seen. Chappell’s rise to fame started with Good Luck, Babe! As soon as it was released back in March. Her lyrics are phenomenal, and she should get the recognition she deserves.
Album of the Year
The Album of the Year Award should go to Short n’ Sweet by Sabrina Carpenter. Short n’ Sweet was Sabrina’s first album that became extremely popular. The album has both sad and upbeat pop songs that capture moments in Sabrina’s life. The album has her #1 hit song Espresso, and her other hit songs Please Please Please and Taste. Sabrina has been in the music industry for many years, and she is due for a grammy.
Best New Artist
In my opinion, the Best New Artist award should go to Chappell Roan. Chappell is a self made pop star who recently rose to fame back in March. About 110,000 people were at her Lollapalooza set making her the artist with one of the biggest crowds in the festival’s history. As much as I love Sabrina Carpenter, I do not think she should win best new artist. She has been in the industry for many years, and she has 6 whole albums out. Sabrina has been on the charts since her hit song back in 2016, Thumbs. Chappell has only recently hit the charts, so she deserves to win a grammy for everything she has done this year.
