The Chocolate Trail is a popular valentines event for everyone who loves sweets to attend. This year, the trail featured over 20 local merchants that crafted their own chocolate treats for attendees to enjoy. This event happened over two weekends- the weekend of February 7th and February 14th. Both weekends were sold–out successes, making it one of the largest years yet for this event. There were chocolate truffles, chocolate covered popcorn, chocolate drinks, and even french hot chocolate at Le Macaron.
One of the most popular businesses during the two weekends were Bitty & Beau’s Coffee, who gave out a raspberry white hot chocolate and a raspberry white chocolate latte, which tasted delicious. They won the second weekend of the trail, while Brew Works restaurant won the first. Another popular place was Clusters, who made red velvet popcorn. One unique place that participates every year was Seasons Olive Oil and Vinegar Taproom. This business creates desserts with their oil every year, and this year they created a raspberry brownie featuring it. Le Macaron decided to give attendees a taste of Paris with their homemade french hot chocolate, which was extremely rich and creamy. The candy store Grandpa Joes decided to keep their handout simple with chocolate covered graham crackers. Some businesses just handed out chocolates from organizations like the children’s hospital. The Sun Inn created a chocolate pudding that also happened to be one of my favorites. One business even made chocolate covered potato chips!
This year’s chocolate trail may have been their most popular yet, and there are many more participating businesses than the ones stated above. This event is a must try for people in Bethlehem in need of a valentines day activity!
