Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Rodrigo, and Gracie Abrams are all artists that are widely known for their fame and various hit songs- but what about other artists? There are many more music artists and bands than people may assume. Only the artists who gain a lot of traction are well known throughout the world, but did you know that there are lots more to discover? You could even go to a local venue to see a local band play! Alessi Rose, Esha Tewari, Maisie Peters, and Audrey Hobert are all artists who are waiting to have their big breakthrough moments, some already starting to. Even your favorite artist was waiting for their big breakthrough at some point!
Alessi Rose
Alessi Rose is a UK based rising star who recently went on tour with Tate McRae. She released her first songs Say Ur Mine on June 13, 2023, and Hate This Part on September 28, 2023. Alessi Rose is often compared to Olivia Rodrigo with her pop rock sounding songs. Rose’s lyrics express feelings about love, breakup, and confessionals, and has an impressive vocal range. Her song CRUSH! From her first EP Rumination is Ritual gained slight traction because it sounded just like an Olivia Rodrigo song due to the rock pop instrumentals and her fun, mocking lyrics focused on mocking people who think everyone is in love with them. She also released For Your Validation in January, featuring the tracks Oh My and imsochillandcool. She recently released her fourth ep with the tracks That Could Be Me and First Original Thought. She also has been gaining more attention because she was Tate McRae’s opener for a portion of the Miss Possessive Tour.
Esha Tewari
Esha Tewari is a folk artist who released her first single With Ease on February 1st, 2024. Tewari’s music features soft vocals featuring themes of heartbreak, longing, self-reflection, and regret. She is often compared to the artist Beabadoobee due to her similar vocals and guitar instrumentals. She just announced her fourth EP, What Makes A Girl, which is set to release on December 5th. She is well known for her song You Were Mine, which was seen trending on TikTok for a short period of time. Now, she is set to be opening for Conan Gray on his Wishbone World Tour.
Maisie Peters
Maisie Peters is another talented UK based artist who opened for Taylor Swift for one show and opened for Conan Gray’s Found Heaven On Tour. Her music is often compared to Taylor Swift because of her storytelling and lyricism. She explores themes of falling in love, breakups, and heartbreak. Peters released her first full album You Signed Up For This on August 21, 2021. This album includes popular songs such as John Hughes Movie, Psycho, and Love Him I Don’t. She is also known for her song Cate’s Brother, and the relationship written about in the song was completely made up. Her second album, The Good Witch was released on October 23, 2023 and features History Of Man and Lost The Breakup. This album is very pop based, and it showcases her vocal talent. She recently released the songs Audrey Hepburn, You You You, and Say My Name In Your Sleep from her unreleased album that does not have a name or release date yet. This album is different from her other works, and it is very acoustic and folk.
Audrey Hobert
Audrey Hobert released her first and only album Who’s The Clown? on August 15, 2024. She was well known beforehand due to her close friendship with Gracie Abrams, as she also co-wrote the song That’s So True, which is Gracie’s most popular song. Audrey is known for being a real person, and unlike anyone else in industry. She explores themes of falling in love, self-embracing insecurities, longing for someone, and being carefree. The first single from the album was Sue Me, which explores themes of longing to be wanted by someone. The catchy lyrics and the pop instrumentals grabbed many people’s attention, making it a viral song. The album also features Wet Hair and Bowling Alley, which were also singles. Her songs sound like long diary entries turned into pop songs.
There are thousands of other small artists besides the ones I shared, and I encourage you to listen to some! All of your favorite artists were concert openers at one point, and they all had to start somewhere!
